POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a new role, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, and will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
The Senior Vice President of Programs (SVP) is responsible for the vision, strategy, quality, and outcomes of all programs delivered across the organization.
This role ensures that every Club provides high-quality, consistent, and outcome-driven experiences aligned with organizational priorities in Academic Success, Health & Wellness, Good Character & Citizenship, and Life & Workforce Readiness.
The SVP oversees Program Vice Presidents and is accountable for program effectiveness, staff readiness, and measurable youth outcomes across all sites, using data, evaluation, and continuous improvement to drive results.
Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the organization’s program strategy, ensuring alignment with mission, youth needs, and organizational priorities.
- Ensure clear, system-wide program models, standards, and expectations that are implemented across all Clubs.
- Ensure programs are structured, intentional, and designed to drive measurable youth outcomes.
- Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), partnering with the COO to shape organizational strategy through a program and impact lens.
- Own and lead the organization’s approach to impact measurement, including NYOI, YPQA, and other evaluation tools.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to youth outcomes and program quality.
- Lead continuous quality improvement (CQI) cycles across all site’s, ensuring data is used to drive decision-making and program enhancements.
- Analyze participation, outcome, and quality data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery across all Clubs while allowing for appropriate site-level flexibility.
- Develop and maintain clear program frameworks, schedules, and implementation tools that support strong execution.
- Partner with Operations to ensure Clubs are equipped, staffed, and structured to deliver programs effectively.
- Provide direct leadership and oversight to Program Vice Presidents and program leadership teams.
- Establish clear expectations for program quality, consistency, and outcomes across all program areas.
- Build leadership capacity through coaching, development, and performance management.
- Ensure that staff hiring and training are intentionally aligned with the defined competencies of each role, enabling staff to consistently deliver high‑quality programs.
- Ensure Youth Development Professionals and Club leaders have the competencies, tools, resources, and support needed for success.
- Oversee onboarding and ongoing professional development related to program delivery and quality standards.
- Oversee programmatic components of grants, ensuring alignment between funding requirements and program execution.
- Partner with the Resource Development and Marketing departments to connect program outcomes to funding strategies, storytelling, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection, reporting, and compliance for all funded programs.
- Stay informed on national trends, research, and best practices in youth development.
- Introduce innovative program models and approaches that enhance youth outcomes and engagement.
- Evaluate and refine programs to ensure relevance, effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Partner closely with Operations team colleagues to align program design with execution at the Club level.
- Collaborate with Finance, Resource Development, and other departments to ensure programs are sustainable and scalable.
- Ensure program decisions are operationally feasible and aligned with organizational priorities.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in youth development, education, or nonprofit programming.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-site program strategy and implementation.
- Strong expertise in program evaluation, data analysis, and continuous improvement (YPQA/CQI preferred).
- Proven ability to lead senior leaders and build high-performing teams.
- Experience aligning programs with grants, funding requirements, and outcome reporting.
- Strong communication and executive leadership presence.
- Deep knowledge of Boys & Girls Club programming preferred.
