The Republican Main Street Partnership (RMSP) is a Washington, DC–based 501(c)(4) organization representing a broad alliance of pragmatic, governing Republicans — more than 100 sitting Members of Congress, who are committed to delivering working solutions to the American public.


Position Summary

The Social Media Coordinator will own RMSP's day-to-day social media presence, helping to raise the organization's visibility, promote member programming and events, and communicate policy-related content to a broad audience. This is an entry-level role well suited to someone early in their communications or public affairs career who wants hands-on experience at the intersection of policy and digital communications.


Key Responsibilities

• Develop & Manage RMSP's social media accounts (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, and others as relevant), including daily posting and community engagement.

• Build and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with RMSP's event and programming schedule.

• Create graphics, short-form video, and copy to promote upcoming events, member programming, and policy content, using tools such as Canva or Adobe Express.

• Provide social coverage (photos, quotes, real-time posts) at RMSP events featuring Members of Congress and other officials.

• Draft social copy that supports email and print communications for events and membership.

• Track engagement metrics and prepare a brief monthly performance summary for the Director

• Monitor relevant policy and political conversations on social media to flag opportunities or risks.

• Coordinate with programming and membership staff to ensure social content reflects accurate event details and member recognition.

• Support other communications and administrative tasks as needed.


Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 0–2 years of experience in social media, communications, or a related field (internships count).

• Strong writing skills and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with major social platforms and basic design tools (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar).

• Interest in politics, public policy, or government affairs.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, small-team environment with regular evening events.

• Photography/videography skills a plus but not required.
