SPECIAL ASSISTANT


STATUS: Non-Exempt

SALARY: $65,000 annually

REPORTS TO: Chief of Staff & Directors

DUTY STATION: Washington, DC

POSITION OVERVIEW

We seek a bright, motivated Special Assistant to support Searchlight’s mission. This person will provide critical scheduling and administrative support to the Searchlight leadership team. No day will look the same, but this person will work across Searchlight’s workstreams to ensure organizational success in both day-to-day functions and long-term projects.


TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support scheduling and logistics for the President and Chief of Staff to help maximize their time and efficiency;
  • Facilitate the seamless flow of information between Searchlight leadership, staff, fellows, and stakeholders;
  • Provide basic support for policy, communications, analytics, outreach, and operations teams, as needed;
  • Help develop Searchlight work products, potentially including research, remarks, presentations, and related content;
  • Support the operational functions of the Searchlight office, including administrative tasks, greeting office visitors, and assisting with events; and
  • Other duties as assigned by senior staff.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 1-2 years of working experience, which could include internships;
  • Unimpeachable integrity and appreciation for confidentiality;
  • Strong communicator who can clearly articulate matters to relevant stakeholder groups;
  • Exceptional project and time management skills;
  • A keen attention to detail; and
  • A commitment to Searchlight’s mission and goals.
