Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) seeks a well-qualified speechwriter to serve in his personal office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to drafting releases, speeches, op-eds, talking points, and other written materials as needed. An ideal candidate must be flexible, dependable, organized, proactive, and possess a working knowledge of issues facing Congress, as well as strong oral and written communication skills, a proven ability to write quickly in a principal’s voice, and a talent for creatively researching and describing complex issues. The ideal candidate should also have speechwriting experience, a collaborative approach to writing, and work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.


A successful candidate will be a team player who is motivated to deliver for Pennsylvanians and should have an opinion as to whether Sheetz or Wawa is superior. Prior Hill or administration experience is preferred, and Pennsylvania ties are strongly welcomed, but not required. This is not an entry level position, and the annual salary is $75,000.
