Job Description


The Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works is seeking applicants for a full or part-time Legislative Internship for Spring 2026 focusing on oceans, wildlife, and plastic pollution issues. The internship provides an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge on how a Senate Committee works to pass legislation, implement laws, and conducts oversight on federal agencies and programs. Candidates should be self-starters with strong writing, research, and communication skills. A background in oceans, wildlife, and/or plastic pollution science and policy is strongly desired. Primary responsibilities will include assisting the policy team with drafting memos, attending and taking notes at hearings and briefings, and scheduling meetings with stakeholders. Interns may be asked to help with tasks such as drafting talking points, gathering news clips, or assisting with hearing binders.
