Job Description
Representative Seth Magaziner (RI-02) seeks part-time, paid Spring semester interns for his Washington, DC office. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing a welcoming environment and positive first impression of the Member’s office to constituents, visitors, and other VIPs;
- Answering incoming calls with poise, professionalism, and promptness;
- Sorting and distributing mail;
- Attending briefings and hearings, conducting legislative research, and drafting correspondence and memoranda;
- Compiling daily press clips;
- Assisting Member and key staff (e.g. Staff Assistant, Operations Director, Chief of Staff) with logistical and administrative duties;
- Receiving and logging constituent correspondence on policy matters for the Member’s consideration and response;
- Assisting with tours of the Capitol.
The fall internship runs from January through mid-May, with flexible start and end dates.
