• 10+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a creative, well-connected, and experienced communications manager to join the AWS Communications team to lead Partner Communications. This role will design, develop, drive, and manage all communications around our rapidly growing AWS Partner Organization. The right candidate possesses extensive media relations experience, B2b tech expertise, top tier media relationships, and is an expert communicator who can translate complex technology concepts into stories that inspire partners around the world. The successful candidate will know the difference between an SI, ISV, and MSP and have a passion for designing communications strategies that show how all of these organizations are reinventing and transforming their operations by choosing the world’s leading cloud. This individual will also have the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic organization, and a track record of managing a team to generate high-impact results.

The Senior Manager, AWS Partner Communications will be a part of the AWS Business Growth and Innovation Communications team, partnering closely with other AWS corporate, customer, and technical communications managers to develop strategic media relations plans that span vertical industries and global PR teams. This candidate will also build strong relationships with AWS Partners and work across the AWS Partner Organization, at the highest levels in AWS, to bring together services, sales, marketing, and account teams to provide strategic counsel and messaging to gain high-profile business and technology press coverage.

The ideal candidate has a passion for AWS’s partners and the transformative nature cloud technology has to help them build rapidly growing and successful businesses. The role will require working deeply with the partner trade press one day, to quickly pivoting to work with mainstream business press the next, while simultaneously driving high impact owned and social media programs and reinventing how we talk to partners through new and emerging creative mediums. This individual will have the demonstrated ability to create mechanisms and guidelines that can be implemented by AWS partner teams globally to help scale PR efforts for AWS’s 150,000 partner organizations.

Key job responsibilities

• Own the strategic communications for AWS’s Partner Organization and designing, developing, and deploying strategic communications programs around the world.
• Regularly provide counsel to AWS senior leadership to best communicate to partners the vast success they can achieve with AWS.
• Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism
• Drafting strategic plans, bylined articles, blog posts, targeted media programs, social media content, and other communications materials.
• Define, develop, and oversee end-to-end execution of PR strategy and programs to show the positive impact of AWS on partners around the world.
• Work cross-functionally with other AWS teams to plan and execute PR campaigns.
• Support the development and execution of events and media engagements.
• Manage the development and success of other AWS Communications team members.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $132,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $246,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
