Job Description
The Office of Congressman Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10) is seeking a Staff Assistant/Communications Assistant for his Washington, DC Office. The ideal candidate should be a self starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, extreme attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Applicants must have a driver's license and a clean driving record. Having a personal vehicle is preferred but not required. The applicant should be aware that this position will sometimes require work outside of normal hours of operation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing the front office, including greeting and welcoming visitors;
- Answering DC phones and logging constituent opinions;
- Managing the office’s intern program;
- Coordinating tour and flag requests;
- Compiling daily press clips;
- Clipping videos;
- Drafting social posts and newsletters;
- Helping to design graphics;
- Driving the Member;
- Completing office operation and administrative duties;
- Assisting the DC staff with other work as assigned.
