STAFF ASSISTANT - The Office of U.S. Representative Wiley Nickel (NC-13) is hiring a Staff Assistant in our Washington, D.C. office. Essential strengths of ideal candidates include exceptional writing skills, close attention to detail and time management, strong interpersonal and written communication skills, an understanding or aptitude for database work, and the ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple competing priorities. 

The Staff Assistant will work within the team to assist with a high-volume constituent mail program and stakeholder follow up program. Responsibilities include working in the office’s constituent correspondence system, interacting with constituents with professionalism and kindness, researching and drafting correspondence, working with staff in the District office and the Legislative Team to monitor and maintain follow ups, driving and staffing the Member, and additional duties as assigned. This is an entry-level position; but strong research, writing, and organizational skills are required. North Carolina ties are preferred, but not required. 

Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and own a registered vehicle.
