Break the Bet is a student-led initiative focused on financial literacy and gambling awareness among high school students. Our mission is to help students better understand risk, decision-making, and long-term financial behavior in an increasingly complex environment.

We are expanding across multiple states and internationally, building a network of student leaders who launch chapters, lead initiatives, and drive impact within their schools and communities.

Role Description

The State/Country leader will lead Break the Bet’s expansion across their region. This is a leadership-focused role centered on building and scaling a network of student leaders across multiple schools and communities.

Key responsibilities include recruiting student leaders, helping them launch chapters, and supporting their growth through consistent communication and guidance.

This role is focused on expansion, leadership, and building a strong regional presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit student leaders across schools in your region
  • Help leaders start and run chapters at their schools
  • Build and manage a network of school and regional leaders
  • Support and check in with leaders regularly
  • Expand into new cities, regions, or districts
  • Track progress and report updates to leadership
  • Qualifications
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Ability to take initiative and work independently
    • Experience in leadership roles, clubs, or student organizations (preferred)
    • Ability to recruit, motivate, and guide others
    • Consistency, accountability, and a growth mindset
  • Compensation

    This is currently an unpaid, volunteer leadership role. However, as the organization continues to grow, there may be opportunities for compensation in the future based on performance, contribution, and overall impact.
