Tech and Telecom Policy Legislative Assistant

Congresswoman McClain Delaney (MD-06) seeks an experienced, highly motivated Tech and Telecom Policy Legislative Assistant. The position will be responsible for the Congresswoman’s Science, Space and Technology Committee in addition to a broad portfolio of issues, including: AI, data privacy and consumer protection concerns associated with emerging technologies; youth online safety; telecom and broadband connectivity; and more. This is not an entry level position; relevant legislative and/or policy experience is required. 

A successful candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize competing demands, and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and a communicative team player, with a great sense of humor.  

Responsibilities include developing and executing strategic legislative priorities, preparing and staffing the Member for committee hearings and markups, drafting talking points and speeches, fostering relationships with constituents and key stakeholders, planning policy related events, and other tasks as required.
