Job Description

Conservative public affairs firm serving leading right-of-center political committees, advocacy groups, and corporate clients seeks a senior level management candidate for our Media Monitoring Team. This dynamic and fast-paced role involves managing a team of direct reports, interfacing regularly with clients, designing and implementing cutting-edge products for internal and external use, and reporting directly to firm principals.

Our company works with the most prominent corporate and political clients in Washington to solve sensitive and high-stakes challenges using open source intelligence and digital forensics techniques, presenting findings in clear, well-written, and actionable research products on tight deadlines that inform high-level decision-making by principals and c-suite executives. Our in-house “war room” uses advanced monitoring tools to track traditional, digital, and social media, ensuring clients are fully apprised, in real-time, of developments relevant to their organizations and policy portfolios.

Candidates must be self-driven, team players, and have a strong work ethic. Experience in conservative political research, political campaigns, public affairs, or on Capitol Hill are a plus. Candidates with experience tracking and analyzing news and media coverage are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, implementing, and testing systems and protocols for new monitoring projects serving both existing and incoming clients
  • Creating and distributing research products to individuals inside the organization as well as to outside clients
  • Managing a large team of media monitoring analysts, ensuring deadlines are met, products are comprehensive and accurate, and competing projects are prioritized
  • Regularly evaluating team members’ performance, ensuring accuracy in alerts and consistency in formatting
  • Rapidly responding to client needs, providing requested products on an ad-hoc basis, onboarding new projects or modifying existing ones to meet those needs
  • Interviewing, vetting, and onboarding new hires for the media monitoring team

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Desire or proven experience working to further conservative causes, candidates, and policies
  • Candidates should be critical thinkers, hard workers, problem solvers, great multitaskers, with strong attention to detail and time management
  • Excellent news judgment, with the ability to gather, analyze, and accurately condense notable information into written content for both internal and external use
  • Experience with research tools and databases such as Meltwater, Grabien, TV Eyes, Bloomberg Law, or other monitoring platforms is essential
  • Interest in or a demonstrated track record of creating AI-driven research or media monitoring tools is a plus
  • Strong candidates will have experience with a political campaign, issue advocacy group, media organization, think tank, member of Congress, public affairs firm, or similar politically involved organization

Salary is commensurate with experience. We offer generous benefits, including health, dental, and vision. Our Arlington, VA, office operates on a hybrid-remote schedule: in-person attendance is optional on Mondays and Fridays and required Tuesday through Thursday. The office is Metro-accessible.

Interested candidates should send a resume and brief note of introduction to publicaffairsconservative@gmail.com.
