The office of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is looking for a Videography Assistant to take our digital storytelling to the next level. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of politics, media, and film.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of relevant experience and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling video: Use video to communicate the Senator's work in a compelling way to the American public.
  • Produce end-to-end: Concept, shoot, edit, and deliver content on quick turnarounds.
  • Experiment & innovate: Use new formats, vertical video, captions, graphics, and trends to meet audiences where they are.
  • Stay agile: Capture both polished productions and scrappy real-time moments, from press conferences to committee hearings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in video production, preferably in politics, advocacy, journalism, or creative media.
  • A strong portfolio that shows you can tell stories that break through online.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition).
  • Skilled at shooting on DSLR/mirrorless cameras, mobile, and in-the-moment environments.
  • A deep understanding of digital trends, audience engagement, and what makes compelling video.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience in livestreaming or producing broadcast-quality video.
  • Skills in animation, motion graphics, or graphic design are a big plus.
  • Basic familiarity with Congress, federal policy, or political campaigns.
