The office of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is looking for a Videography Assistant to take our digital storytelling to the next level. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of politics, media, and film.
The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of relevant experience and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create compelling video: Use video to communicate the Senator's work in a compelling way to the American public.
- Produce end-to-end: Concept, shoot, edit, and deliver content on quick turnarounds.
- Experiment & innovate: Use new formats, vertical video, captions, graphics, and trends to meet audiences where they are.
- Stay agile: Capture both polished productions and scrappy real-time moments, from press conferences to committee hearings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in video production, preferably in politics, advocacy, journalism, or creative media.
- A strong portfolio that shows you can tell stories that break through online.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition).
- Skilled at shooting on DSLR/mirrorless cameras, mobile, and in-the-moment environments.
- A deep understanding of digital trends, audience engagement, and what makes compelling video.
- Comfortable juggling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience in livestreaming or producing broadcast-quality video.
- Skills in animation, motion graphics, or graphic design are a big plus.
- Basic familiarity with Congress, federal policy, or political campaigns.
