Summary
The position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), Office of Commercial Disruption and International Relations. ONDCP's mission is to promulgate a Strategy that establishes the Administration's policies, goals, objectives, and priorities for the National Drug Control Program and to coordinate and oversee the implementation of the Strategy by the National Drug Control Program agencies.
Duties
As a Senior Policy Analyst (Supply Reduction), GS-0301-15, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Provides expert drug policy advice, recommendations, and representations to the Staff Director and Assistant Director, OCDIR; the Deputy Director, ONDCP, and the Director, ONDCP.
Develops and oversees measure and tracking systems to monitor international and domestic law enforcement drug control measures for assigned areas and makes recommendations based on information derived.
Analyzes pending and proposed legislation, agency regulations, Congressional testimony, budget allocations, budget reprograming, program announcements, and Federal publications to ensure consistency with NDCS.
Reviews critical research, evaluation, and statistical activities of Federal and non-government groups to identify information relevant to pending policy issues and suggests improvements necessary to shape informed drug policy strategy and decisions pertaining to the specific area of responsibility.
Ensures and actively participates in the oversight of relevant public policy discussions and analyses and monitors the development and implementation of relevant drug control activities and programs.
