About the Company



THIS POSITION STARTS IMMEDIATELY AND RUNS UNTIL MAY 5 AT THE EARLIEST. We are looking for a campaign manager/coordinator to run a progressive grassroots campaign for US Congress. This is a primary campaign to unseat an incumbent democrat, and the election has national implications, one of the biggest is republicans losing a guaranteed vote from the Democrats. This campaign is a grassroots people-powered campaign taking absolutely no corporate or Super PAC money. The candidate, Lindsey Ferreira, is a disabled Navy veteran, Muslim woman, progressive, community activist, volunteer, and parent. She deeply honors the oath she made to protect the constitution against all enemies foreign AND domestic. She’s passionate about fighting for and protecting civil rights, protecting trans and LGBTQ+ rights, women’s civil and reproductive healthcare, and ending the genocide in Gaza along with permanently ceasing all federal funding and any type of military aid, including the sale of weapons to Israel.

She is running for congress to:

  • Lower the cost of housing and rent

  • Lower the cost of healthcare, dental and vision care, creating a pathway to healthcare for all

  • Protect and expand Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security

  • Protect and expand SNAP, childcare benefits, and TANF

  • Fully fund and expand the VA to ensure all veterans have access to quality VA healthcare as well as fighting to end veteran homelessness, and ensuring disabled veterans can afford to live by fighting for cost of living pay for veterans receiving VA disability

  • Protect, fully fund, and federalize public education to ensure all public school children have an equal educational opportunity, along with implementing universal free breakfast and lunch to all pre k-12 public school students

  • Fight against the tyrannical Trump administration, and ending corruption in DC, Congress, and the White House

About the Role



You will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and execution of a campaign, including budgeting, team management, and performance analysis. You will also be responsible for handling the logistical and administrative tasks, such as scheduling, communication, media relations, arranging media appearances and interviews to promote and raise awareness about the campaign, marketing to raise local and national awareness about the campaign, arranging speaking engagements at events, fundraising coordination, volunteer coordination, event planning, and any other additional campaign related tasks. The main tenants of this campaign are radical authenticity, transparency and honesty, ethics and integrity. The candidate will not compromise who they are as a person in order to achieve political gain, and the same applies for the campaign.



Responsibilities



  • Your job is to help this campaign win election, and run like a well-oiled machine.

  • Leads and motivates the campaign team, including staff, volunteers, and consultants.

  • Hiring, training, and managing fundraising coordinator, event planner, marketing and communications coordinator, web developer.

  • Ensure all filing deadlines are met and all forms being filed have zero errors.

  • Ensure all budgeting and FEC forms are correct, up to date, and filed on time.

  • Maintains records of campaign activities, expenses, and other relevant information.

  • Working with event coordinator to ensure the campaign has enough volunteers, and all volunteers have gone through volunteer orientation and have been properly trained in their respective roles.

  • Works with Campaign Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and manage campaign volunteers.

  • Working with the campaign strategist to coordinate campaign events, travel arrangements, and other logistical needs.

  • Handles scheduling, communication, and data entry tasks.

  • Coordinating with Grassroots analytics to have correct call time data sheets put together and distributed.

  • Tracks campaign performance using analytics tools and makes adjustments to optimize results.

  • Seeking out and scheduling campaign events, and speeches in order to get the candidate’s name out to both the voter in Ohio but the national audience as well.

  • Work alongside the fundraising coordinator to create fundraising events and campaigns.

  • Working with website developer to ensure the website is staying up to date with the latest events, and news.

  • Working alongside the campaign strategist, marketing team, and social media team to ensure the candidate’s message is getting out to the masses both in Ohio and nationally; this includes getting the candidate on relevant podcasts, news interviews, and appearances or interviews on other non-mentioned media outlets.

  • Assisting in raising funds for the campaign through events, meet and greets, emails, phone calls, and texts.

  • Working alongside the campaign researcher, making sure the campaign’s position is UTD on all current news, legislation, and bills, as well as assisting with opposition research on the campaign opponent.

  • Staying UTD on the campaign’s current polls, as well as the opposition.

  • Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Addresses any unforeseen challenges or issues that may arise during the campaign.

  • Other duties not mentioned may also need to be completed.


Qualifications



  • You are running this campaign, and must be in it to win it, and ensure the entire campaign is ran like a well-oiled machine. This job is not for the faint of heart.

  • You must be ridiculously organized, extra motivated, able to handle intense pressure, long hours, work weekends.

  • You must be able to be a self-starter, and complete tasks without being managed.

  • You must be able to adhere to all deadlines. Any paperwork and forms must be meticulously prepared, organized, filed on time, and accurate.

  • You must be able to be ultra flexible and adapt easily to change.

  • You must be willing to network, haggle, and schmooze (while maintaining integrity).

  • You must have a high standard of integrity, and ethics.

  • Must have experience running a progressive grassroots campaign with a proven track record of success.

  • Must have experience and knowledge with VAN. Experience with other voter/supporter data and software is a plus.

  • Must have a proven track record of experience with Excel.

  • Must have experience and a proven track record with campaign finance and budgeting.

  • Must have knowledge with campaign polling data.

  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed.

  • Marketing and sales experience is a plus.

  • Must have a proven track record of being able to manage large scale projects with multiple teams.

  • Must be organized, goal-oriented, and self-driven with the ability to complete tasks and projects before or by their due date.

  • Must have experience running and marketing large scale events.

  • Must have excellent spoken and written language skills.

  • Must have experience setting up press conferences, communicating with press, and getting press to attend necessary campaign events.

  • Needs to have Google Drive and Zoom access.

  • Must have a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation.

  • Must be a registered voter.

  • Cannot have worked or volunteered with any republican campaign or opponent’s campaign.


Preferred Skills



  • Knowledge and experience with coordinating canvassing and phone banking.

  • Seeking and building donor and supporter relationships.

  • Experience creating and organically boosting social media content.

  • Knowledge of Canvas.

  • Knowledge of Linktree.
