Field Director Job
Type: Full-time salaried
Reports to: Campaign Manager
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Timeframe: February 2023 to November 2024
Join Daniel Lurie's campaign team as the Field Director and play a pivotal role in shaping the campaign's outreach strategy in San Francisco. We are seeking an experienced individual with at least 2 cycles of field experience who adapts quickly to new environments and has a passion for grassroots organizing. As the Field Director, you will be responsible for hiring and managing field organizers, overseeing meet-and-greet programs, managing volunteers, community outreach, and coordinating all field events.
Primary Responsibilities:
Field Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive field plan tailored to the unique demographics and communities within San Francisco.
- Collaborate closely with the campaign leadership team to integrate field efforts with overall campaign strategy and messaging.
- Represent the campaign at community events, meetings, and forums to build relationships and promote Daniel Lurie's candidacy.
Meet-and-Greet Program
- Coordinate and lead meet-and-greet events with community leaders, stakeholders, and potential supporters to promote Daniel Lurie's platform and vision.
Field Organizing
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to effectively execute the campaign's outreach activities.
- Organize and execute farmer's market and community tabling events to engage with voters, distribute campaign materials, and gather feedback.
- Plan and oversee canvassing operations, including turf assignments, canvasser training, and data collection efforts.
- Manage phone banking initiatives to reach out to voters, identify supporters, and mobilize volunteers for campaign activities.
- Utilize voter data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of field activities and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, volunteer engagement, and voter contact data.
Requirements:
- 2 cycles of campaign experience
- Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of volunteers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with community members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing, including volunteer recruitment, training, and management.
- Familiarity with voter outreach techniques, including canvassing, phonebanking, and event organizing.
- Proficiency in Campaign Tools and Platforms: Microsoft Excel, G Suite, PDI (strongly preferred), NGP/VAN, Numero.ai
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate field events and activities.
- Previous experience working on political campaigns, preferably in San Francisco or the Bay Area (preferable but not required).
