Audible is currently looking to hire a Senior Manager, International Government Affairs to be based in Newark, NJ.

The Senior Manager for International Government Affairs will monitor legislative and government developments abroad that impact Audible’s businesses outside the United States; oversee interaction with foreign government officials; and educate foreign policymakers on Audible lines of business and Audible public policy missions. The Senior Manager will design plans for foreign government outreach by analyzing emerging and existing legislative and public policy issues impacting Audible in the countries in which Audible operates, in particular those in Asia, South America, and the United Kingdom. The Senior Manager will serve as a liaison to and develop key relationships with government officials. The Senior Manager will prepare policy briefings on pending legislation and government developments affecting Audible and provide leadership and recommendations within Audible regarding those developments. The Senior Manager will ensure appropriate company participation in government and industry forums. The Senior Manager will work with policymakers, government leaders, and lobbyists to influence public policy, monitor government initiatives, and advocate for specific plans to advance Audible’s business objectives outside the United States. The Senior Manager for Legislative & Government Affairs will report to the Vice President, Public Policy & Community Affairs. This position will be based in Newark, NJ.

Basic Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required.

A strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes and strategic thinking skills are required.

Ability to manage multiple projects delivering them on time and on budget is required.

Must be able to interface successfully with all levels of management within Audible and with outside professionals.

Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with government officials is required.

Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changes in priorities and remain productive while handling multiple assignments under pressure and meeting rigid deadlines is required.

Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills are required.

Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency is required.

Preferred Qualifications

An advanced degree (JD, MBA, and/or Master’s) is preferred.

A minimum of 8 years of prior experience in international governmental relations, public policy, or lobbying is preferred.

Significant knowledge of foreign government and regulatory systems, including that of countries in which Audible operates in Asia, South America, and the United Kingdom, is preferred.
