EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT


Summary

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is a component within the Executive Office of the President that helps Federal departments and agencies implement the commitments and priorities of the President. The Program Examiner position is located in OMB's, Environment Branch. The Environment Branch is responsible for the review of policy, budget, legislative, and management issues related to the nation's environment, including knowledge of programs that advance environmental protection.

Duties

As a Program Examiner, GS-0301-12/13, your typical work assignments may include the following:


Perform legislative, economic, management, financial management, information, regulatory, and organizational analyses.

Review and analyze agency policy and legislative submissions, studies, research materials, and other information related to assigned areas.

Oversee, guide, and coordinate the formulation and execution of the budget in areas related to air quality, atmospheric protection, indoor air, hazardous air pollutants, stationary sources of air pollution.

Resolve policy issues, render advice and assistance in the administration of operating guidelines, and shapes policies and priorities.

Develop and recommend strategies to improve the value and effectiveness of environmental management systems, program operations, and program analyses.

Review major reorganization proposals, and study personnel management and systems development in order to help develop and initiate long range plans and goals.

Present the need for new legislation and changes in legislation.

Advise OMB and agency officials on matters related to assigned areas.
