Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Public Affairs, Digital Media Engagement Division located in Washington, DC. The purpose of the position is to serve as Branch Chief with responsibility for managing, directing and supervising the Social Media Branch.


Duties

This position starts at a salary of $142,488.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $185,234.00 (GS-14, Step 10 ).


The Office of Public Affairs is responsible for maintaining the public trust via robust, consistent, proactive and responsive engagement between CBP and domestic and foreign publics. You will be responsible for planning, executing and evaluating the effectiveness of information and communication programs in furthering CBP goals and objectives. In this position you will be performing the below duties:


Managing social media on behalf of CBP.

Advising and coordinates policy and procedures related to agency leaders' social media engagement activities.

Advising the Assistant Commissioner and Deputy Assistant Commissioner about public attitudes toward CBP as well as reactions to achievements, incidents, policies and operations.

First line supervisor of a staff consisting of professional, administrative and technical personnel.
