Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) is currently accepting applications for 1 scheduling/operations internship position in his Washington DC office for Summer 2024. Responsibilities include working with the Director of Scheduling to track incoming scheduling inquiries, compiling data to organize information, and maintaining scheduling records. Additional responsibilities may include corresponding with and serving Massachusetts constituents by answering phones, giving Capitol tours, and organizing incoming messages, attending Senate committee hearings and briefings, and assisting with other administrative and legislative projects as necessary. All applicants must be proactive hard-workers with excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure. The DC internship program is directed toward current and recent undergraduate students. Backgrounds in public administration, business, management, political science, English, and history are desirable but not required. Stipends are available at a rate of $15/hour pre-tax to students who could not otherwise afford to live or work in Washington DC.
