The Senate Foreign Relations Committee Majority (Democratic) Staff is seeking a Senior Professional Staff Member (PSM) to support the Committee’s oversight and legislative activities related to the United Nations, democracy, human rights, peace-keeping, humanitarian assistance, conflict, refugee, migration and other issues.

  • Key responsibilities include the development of legislation, conducting oversight of issues, agencies, and nominations under the committee’s jurisdiction, planning and preparing hearings, and drafting memos, talking points and reports. Duties also include coordinating and collaborating with other committees and congressional staff, as well representation with foreign partners, executive branch agencies, and advocates.
  • Qualified applicants must possess exceptional communication and writing skills, be able to manage multiple projects at once, and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. At least ten years of relevant policy experience is required, and previous Hill or related agency experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should have an advanced degree in a relevant field and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
