Job Description
Senator Tim Sheehy seeks to hire a proactive, resourceful individual who will serve as his senior aide to advise on strategic priorities and policy decisions. This role will ensure that the senator's goals are developed into actionable plans and executed seamlessly with clear communication and coordination strategies among leadership, stakeholders, and within the department. Applicants must have strong leadership abilities to handle complex responsibilities, including staff management, strategic planning, policy analysis, and stakeholder management.
Duties include and not limited to:
- Oversees the office's budget, personnel decisions, and operating policies and procedures for the Washington, DC, and state offices; ensures that the office's policies are in accordance with U.S. Senate rules and regulations.
- Represents the senator at meetings, events, and functions.
- Monitors important issues, particularly of a legislative nature, for accurate representation of the senator's positions.
- Schedules and coordinates town hall meetings in state with appropriate staff.
- Assists constituents with unique and special needs.
- Travels with the senator regionally and internationally as necessary.
- Manage the senator's offices and operations.
- Manage senior staff and provide clear guidance for success.
- Oversee staffing matters, salary, and hiring.
- Manage the MRA and office budget.
- Mentor and guide staff members, fostering professional growth and development.
- Security clearance preferred TS-SCI.
Preferred Experience:
- 6+ years of management experience.
- Bachelor’s in related field.
- Deputy or Chief of Staff experience is preferred.
- Must have extensive experience on the Hill.
- Thorough knowledge of legislative process and chamber rules.
- Strong time-management and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of planning, executing, and managing complex projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
