Summary: In 2024, Ohio is a frontline battleground state with competitive races up and down the ballot. Ohio must re-elect Senator Sherrod Brown in what will be the nation’s top targeted race in 2024, determining the control of the US Senate. This year will also offer the chance to take control of the Ohio Supreme Court, make gains in the state legislature, and defend three battleground congressional seats.

The Constituency Director will be a fundamental role of the Senior Leadership Team and will manage a team of Constituency Staff. They will develop the statewide constituency organizing plan, focused on outreach and engagement with key constituency groups in Ohio including the Black, Latino, AAPI, and LGBTQ communities. This position is full time and based in Columbus, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Develop and implement the 2024 Coordinated Campaign’s statewide constituency engagement program
  • Collaborate with various departments within HQ in order to work effectively and facilitate support structures for the constituency team
  • Hire and oversee all Constituency Department Staff; create systems and communication structures to optimize performance and consistently meet departmental goals
  • Develop this unique campaign vertical, including the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers to participate in community events, voter registration, and early vote mobilization
  • Build relationships with key constituency stakeholders and represent the Ohio Coordinated Campaign in community events across the state
  • Motivate a statewide team to flourish in a fast-paced and rigorous work environment

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 2 cycles of organizing or political experience, with a strong preference for at least 1 cycles of experience in either a Deputy or management role on a statewide program
  • Experience managing staff through multiple layers, including those in unions, is preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; especially as applied to building an inclusive management culture that supports staff professional and skills development
  • Experience with NGP VAN and other crucial data and digital outreach infrastructure
  • Attention to detail and developed organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of our organization
  • Commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ticket in Ohio

The salary will range between $7500 – $8,500 per month and full benefits including PTO as needed, health, dental, and voluntary vision insurance. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle. Housing will not be provided.
