New Hire - Development Operations & Events Coordinator (May 2025)

Position Summary

The Development Operations and Events Coordinator plays a key role in Easterseals DC MD VA’s fundraising and donor engagement strategy, supporting both administrative and event logistics functions. This position is responsible for assisting with fundraising event coordination, donor stewardship efforts, sponsorship management, and administrative support for development operations. The Coordinator will work closely with gift officers, committees, vendors, and marketing teams to ensure successful fundraising initiatives and donor engagement activities.

Administrative & Development Support

  • Support development officers in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify potential donors and funding opportunities.
  • Schedule and coordinate donor meetings, sending confirmations and managing calendar logistics.
  • Crosstrain to maintain accurate donor and event records in the database (Raiser’s Edge preferred).
  • Generate reports and analysis on fundraising efforts, event performance, and donor engagement.
  • Provide general administrative support, including correspondence, record-keeping, and team coordination.

Fundraising Events & Sponsorship Management

  • Support events team on logistics, vendor procurement, and event experience for all major fundraising events, including Advocacy Awards, Walk With Me, and Bright Stars.
  • Manage sponsorship outreach, tracking, invoicing, and fulfillment, serving as the primary point of contact (POC) for sponsors.
  • Coordinate committee recruitment, engagement, and meeting logistics, including scheduling, agendas, and follow-ups.
  • Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies for events, including Save the Date notices, invitations, post-event wrap-ups, and committee updates.
  • Maintain and update event websites and ensure clear, timely, and engaging participant communication.
  • Assist in program development and script coordination, working with internal teams to refine content.
  • Oversee ticketing, staff distribution, and guest correspondence for event registrations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, event planning, communications, or a related field.
  • Three+ years of experience in fundraising, event coordination, nonprofit administration, or donor relations.
  • Proficiency in event logistics, sponsorship management, and marketing coordination.
  • Experience with vendor and contract management.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with fundraising databases (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and CRM platforms.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with flexibility to support evening/weekend events as needed.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
