Deputy Campaign Manager Job

Type: Full-time salaried 

Reports to: Field Director 

Location: San Francisco Bay Area 

Timeframe: February 2023 to November 2024 

Join Daniel Lurie's campaign team as the Deputy Campaign Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the campaign's outreach strategy in San Francisco. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with exceptional leadership skills and a deep commitment to the campaign's goals and values. The Deputy Campaign Manager will work closely with the Campaign Manager, staff members, consultants, volunteers, and external stakeholders to execute the campaign's strategic plan and achieve its objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet campaign goals.
  • Identify and cultivate potential major donors, including individuals, organizations, and PACs.
  • Coordinate and organize fundraising events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key bundlers, providing them with the necessary tools and support to succeed.
  • Set ambitious bundling targets and track progress towards goals.
  • Implement strategies to expand the campaign's bundler network and reach new donor pools.

Management:

  • Supervise and manage 2-3 staff members, providing guidance and support in their respective roles.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure effective communication and collaboration across all areas of the campaign.

Campaign Operations:

  • Oversee day-to-day campaign operations, including budget management, expense tracking, printing, and logistics.
  • Work with our legal and compliance team to ensure compliance with campaign finance regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and other external partners.

Campaign Programs and Projects:

  • Assist in the development and execution of campaign programs and projects as needed, including voter outreach, field organizing, political outreach, and communications.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 cycles of campaign experience 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Campaign Tools and Platforms: Microsoft Excel, G Suite, PDI (strongly preferred), NGP/VAN, Numero.ai
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate field events and activities.
