The United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 3000 is seeking applicants for its Essential Workers Organizing Academy (Project Organizer), a paid nine-month training program for new and aspiring union organizers. This program will be part education and part hands-on organizing in the field. This is not an internship, and it will be fully compensated as a paid position. The goal of this program is to graduate organizers who are ready to be staff and future labor leaders.

Candidates should have previously demonstrated an interest in organizing, whether in their own workplace or community. They should be open to learning new skills and ways of thinking, able to work collaboratively with other organizers, and committed to contributing to a labor movement that fights for justice and fairness for all workers and working-class people.

Job Location:

Applicants should be local to UFCW 3000’s jurisdiction (Washington State, Eastern Idaho, and Northeastern Oregon) and prepared to work mainly between the Seattle Labor Temple and UFCW 3000’s Spokane, WA office. Some travel is expected that can include durations between 1-14 days at a time, depending on campaigns and projects.
