Senator Chuck Schumer seeks a constituent liaison for his New York district office. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, advocating for constituents before various government agencies, securing positive outcomes and maintaining communication with constituents on these matters. This portfolio includes: environment, FEMA, flood insurance, military, national parks, postal, small business, and veterans. The ideal candidate must be a college graduate, have prior government experience, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be compassionate and motivated by public service, detail oriented, organized and have the ability to prioritize daily and long-terms tasks, exercise discretion and independent judgement. Individual must work cooperatively and collaboratively with others in a very fast-paced work environment. The individual in this role will also serve as the intern coordinator for the New York City office. Responsibilities include managing and overseeing all aspects of the office’s competitive internship program from recruitment and training, to planning work assignments, to maintaining a mutually valuable internship experience.
