What You’ll Be Working On-

The Government Affairs Manager will be responsible for crafting strategy at the state and local levels and overseeing political engagement and lobbying related objectives across multiple markets. The Manager will interface with state industry associations and engage in the creation and management of relationships with stakeholder groups and coalitions. In this capacity, the Manager will advocate for the priorities and goals of Dunkin’ Brands. Working for and under the direction of the Director of Government Affairs, the Manager will be responsible for:

Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with industry lobbyists, elected officials, regulators and staff in order to advocate effectively for the legislative and regulatory policy goals of the Brand

Monitoring and evaluating proposed legislation in order to identify public policy issues, assess their impact on the Brand, and develop recommendations and solutions

Developing and managing state and local grassroots advocacy campaigns

Facilitating engagement initiatives and promoting public officials visits to home office or restaurant locations across the country

Monitoring, researching, and analyzing proposed legislative and regulatory development and how they impact the brand

Regularly communicating with Dunkin’ Brands franchisees

Preparing and presenting verbal and written status updates on legislative, regulatory and policy developments and position papers to internal stakeholders

Drafting correspondence to elected officials and government agencies

Drafting periodic government affairs reports and newsletter to franchisees

Assisting with lobbying disclosure compliance requirements for team

Providing miscellaneous support to team in field, as needed

What You Should Know-

Estimated 40% travel

We have two positions available, one of which will cover New England and one that will cover key markets such as CA, NY, IL & NJ

Will consider field based employees (remote)

What You’ll Need-

Bachelor’s degree required; Political Science or Communications degree preferred

5 to 7+ years of experience working in public policy or government affairs and familiarity with the legislative and regulatory process

In house, corporate government affairs experience preferred

Strong understanding of and experience with public policy, political and campaign advocacy, public affairs programs, and campaign management concepts

Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills

Exceptional written, editing, and verbal communication skills

Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

Strong analytical and business problem solving skills

Ability to build strong partnerships across all areas and levels of the organization

Self-motivation and ability to work proactively and independently, troubleshoot, and work well under pressure
