Job Description
The Visa Institute for Global Policy shapes the future of payments through policy analysis, thought leadership, and proactive engagement with national authorities, multilateral development banks, academic thought leaders and international institutions.
As a member of Visa’s Institute for Global Policy team within Visa's Government Engagement (GE) organization, the Analyst helps advance Visa’s international organization engagement strategy by providing overall team support. Duties will range from preparing senior management briefings, producing presentations, and assisting with strategic planning across key issues and initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong organizational, Power Point, Excel, and writing skills. They will be comfortable covering multiple assignments at once, and capable of quickly and efficiently producing high-quality results. Experience working directly with international organizations (e.g., the World Bank, Financial Stability Board (FSB), international Monetary Fund (IMF), etc.) is a plus.
The position is based in Washington DC.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor digital transformation and payments-related policy developments in international organizations, identifying emerging policy trends and analyzing their impacts to Visa
- Work other internal functions including, but not limited to, regional Government Engagement (GE) teams, Regulatory Affairs/ Legal, Corporate Strategy, Country and Regional Management, Risk and Corporate Communications
- Develop briefing books, policy summaries, and reports, and help prepare senior executives for international engagements
- Oversee shared team resources, spreadsheets and reporting requirements to ensure Visa’s internal requirements and processes are met
- Support in the creation of compelling and insightful thought leadership and government consultation responses, as needed
- Provide operational support across the team, including day-to-day meeting management
- Manage and track the team’s progress toward achieving Objective and Key Results (OKR)
- Support long term research planning to generate policy positions, and ensure cross-functional partners are aware of and aligned with planning
- Coordinating internally with market, regional, and cross functional colleagues, and externally with partner organizations.
- Gather and develop market intelligence based on payments data and external publications (e.g., central banks, international organizations, trade associations, etc.).
- Support development of key policy messages and talking points that allows internal stakeholders to reframe/amplify our narrative for external engagements.
- Support team members within the Institute for Global Policy (e.g., scorecards, external presentations, executive engagements, etc.) as needed.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- Experience working on policy issues in governments, international organizations and private sector preferred.
- Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills (writing samples may be requested).
- Advanced experience with PowerPoint and Excel, with ability to quickly and easily develop presentation material and pivot tables to support policy analysis
- Employs sound judgment regarding sensitive information.
- Proven track record to manage priorities effectively and efficiently in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and independently manage and prioritize work, while meeting key deadlines.
- Excellent collaborator with strong interpersonal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex issues and deliver consistently excellent work products on deadline
- Highly organized and results driven with a focus on quality execution and outcomes
- Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, both internal and external
- General knowledge of legal and regulatory issues of relevance to public financial services or payments companies a plus
- Outstanding inter-personal, presentation, and communications skills.
