Job Description
I’m Still Here Foundation (ISH) is a nonprofit organization educating, promoting and supporting people living with dementia and their care partners through arts, culture and community engagement activities.
ISH is seeking a part-time Program Manager for 15 hours per week. This is a remote position, with the expectation of occasional in-person meetings. The preference is for a candidate with residency in Massachusetts or surrounding states. This role will oversee the Innovative Grants Program, which offers funding for community-based, non-pharmacological and innovative programs that benefit people living with dementia (PLWD) and their care partners across the country. This position will support the Grants Committee’s task of reviewing and selecting projects/programs for grant awards. This position will monitor ISH award-winners and their projects, and will keep the Board and Executive Director informed and up-to-date. The Program Manager reports to the Executive Director.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect, support and guide 5-10 projects per year. In addition to managing the Innovation Grants Program, the Program Manager will have the opportunity to grow this position to include local outreach/services and expand other programs, such as ISH’s Legacy Programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and execute all stages of the grant cycle from letters of inquiry (LOI) to final reports, and:
- Ensure all grant announcements regarding dates and deadlines are posted on ISH’s website
- Review all LOIs and full grant applications
- Plan and organize the Grants Committee’s selection processes
- Communicate results to applicants and negotiate contract terms
- Review and receive feedback from recipients on project and processes
- Guide and monitor all funded projects through its 1-year cycle
- Communicate regularly with Grants Committee members and Chair
- Manage the reporting process and distribute reports and relevant documentation to the Board
- Maintain and update grants information on ISH’s website
- Regular meetings with Executive Director
- Meetings with Board Members, as needed
- Oversee and supervise Administrative and Communications Assistant
- Keep Communications Committee updated on grantees’ progress
- Support the Grants Committee’s efforts with updates of the guidelines for innovative projects
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will:
- Have proven leadership, communication and project management skills.
- Work effectively with grantees on all matters including expectations, timelines, responsibilities, etc.
- The candidate is required to have administrative experience and be well-organized.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Ability to think creatively, multi-task, prioritize, manage multiple projects from start to finish, work with a nonprofit Board, and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility and adaptability are pluses. Knowledge of the field of dementia is highly valued.
