Senior Vice President
Firehouse is seeking a full-time senior vice president to join our rapidly growing public affairs firm.
Senior vice presidents at Firehouse lead the firm's account teams in managing media and advocacy campaigns for corporate clients. The successful candidate for this position has 10+ years of experience serving in communications roles on behalf of political candidates, members of Congress, or presidential administrations, has an extensive network of national and Beltway media contacts, and a background in leading teams.
This position is based out of Firehouse’s Washington, D.C. office where the firm’s employees work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and remotely Monday and Friday.
Responsibilities
· Oversee team members in managing the firm's client accounts.
· Lead team members in developing and executing strategies and tactics that effectively reach and persuade clients’ targeted audiences.
· Deliver media and political analysis, insights, and strategies to clients.
· Leverage existing relationships with members of the press to successfully place earned media stories and opinion content in prominent national and Beltway media outlets.
· Work alongside the firm’s political team in managing clients’ grasstops advocacy campaigns.
· Participate in business development pitches with prospective clients and oversee team members in crafting proposals that successfully acquire new clients for the firm.
· Mentor team members in their professional development and ensure they receive the necessary feedback, guidance, and resources to excel in their roles.
Qualifications
· 10+ years of experience serving in communications roles on behalf of political candidates, members of Congress, or presidential administrations.
· Experience leading team members.
· Ability to leverage existing media relationships to place earned media stories and opinion content in prominent national and Beltway media outlets.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Superb presentation skills.
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize both client and team needs.
· Capable of operating Microsoft Office Suite platforms, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
