Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience managing and writing communications in the media, government or non-profit space.

2 years of experience supporting executive-level communications.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience working with engineering and technical client groups.

Experience managing a team with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.

Excellent attention to detail.

Ability to build excellent relationships with and influence leaders. Ability to work in fast-paced environments across teams and functions.

Excellent communication skills.

Authorization to work in the United States.

About the job

As a member of the Executive Communications team, you will be part of a small team which produces employee communications and events for Google executives. You will work with members of your internal client team on communications initiatives, projects and programs. You will support the work of the team to create strategic communications campaigns, come up with innovative ways to engage employees that are in tune with Google's culture, write communications, business update presentations and talking points. You will also collaborate with internal partners as needed across functions (PR, Policy, Legal, HR, Operations, etc.) and geographies.

As part of the YouTube Communications team, you will lead internal communication to and from YouTube’s tech organization, develop communication strategies, and produce communications for YouTube’s technical leadership.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver messaging, and provide advice for leadership. In this role, you will coordinate content and speakers for internal events, represent YouTube tech to Google, and help drive forward YouTube’s culture and business strategy by inspiring and aligning the team around YouTube’s mission, values, and objectives.

We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders-and our own employees-about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, comms, marketing, product and beyond.

Responsibilities

Develop creative communications strategies for technical executives at YouTube across the product and engineering organizations.

Develop, write, and edit communications for technical executives, including organizational narratives, speeches, emails, articles and slide presentations.

Interact with and influence executives, and provide advice that reflects an understanding of their business and leadership style.

Manage and build partnerships with key internal stakeholders to devise clear communications, and distill subjects into easy-to-understand language across teams and geographies.
