Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) seeks a Legislative Assistant to manage a portfolio covering energy, climate change, and transportation issues. Duties include advising the Senator on all matters under the issue portfolio at the national level and California; coordinating with Energy and Water Appropriations staff to develop and enact funding legislation; developing and advancing legislative proposals; representing the Senator before constituents and stakeholders; drafting vote recommendations and talking points for floor proceedings; reviewing legislative correspondence; and supervising a Legislative Correspondent. This is not an entry-level position: Qualified candidates should have at least five years of relevant professional experience, knowledge of the issues and industries, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prior Capitol Hill or Administration experience is preferred and California ties are ideal. Candidates must be able to meet short deadlines and juggle many priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
