Education and Training Coordinator

The Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) is seeking an Education and Training Coordinator for its communications and membership team. The Education and Training Coordinator is a key member of the membership team, who under the direction and guidance of the C&M Director collaborates with and works across teams to provide members with online training and events and manages a library of training videos on MMA’s website. This position also provides support for assigned in-person events and trainings.
About the MMA: The nonpartisan Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA) is the recognized voice of local government across the state, advancing cities and towns as centers of excellence in our economy and society. The MMA provides high-impact services to its member cities and towns statewide, including advocacy, policy research and analysis, multi-faceted education and training, multi-platform communications and nationally recognized municipal service programs. As a membership organization, the MMA works to advance the interests of all cities and towns, uniting local leaders to promote local government policies and programs that build strong communities.
About the position: Under the direction of the Director of Communications and Membership, this position coordinates education and training programs, including:
- coordinating and managing cross-membership virtual trainings, conferences, workshops and meetings, including implementing virtual learning goals, agendas and program content, recruiting and preparing speakers, managing the online platform, promoting events, and gathering feedback
- providing staff support to assigned cross-membership, in-person events and trainings
- developing learning objectives
- managing and populating a library of online resources and training materials
- coordinating recordings of MMA Annual Meeting & Trade Show keynote speakers and workshops
- developing a system to charge for recorded events
Qualifications: A college degree is required. Training experience, both for virtual and in person events, is preferred. Membership organization experience is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and highly professional written and oral communication abilities are essential, as well as attention to detail. The ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team are critical. A driver's license is required for in-state travel to meetings and events.
Work environment: Our offices are located in Boston’s Government Center neighborhood. The staff is loyal and professional.
