Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in policy for an online platform or engagement with online public policy issues.
- Experience working with minors age 13 and under on topics related to child development.
- Academic or clinical experience in child development, behavior, or psychology of minors ages 13 and under.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with global teams and communicating with stakeholders cross-functionally.
- Experience in engaging and discussing sensitive or controversial topics.
- Experience with implementing strategies and/or projects in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience in topics related to minor physical or psychological safety.
- Ability to work in a changing environment.
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

As a Trust and Safety Policy Lead, you will switch between developing global policies for YouTube content and leading cross-functional projects impacting the global ecosystem.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum Salary of $135,000 - $145,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
- Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation range for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update global child safety and youth policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and company executives regarding proposed content policy efforts.
- Lead research and training for developing Youth/Child Safety policies and understanding emerging risks across the globe. Partner with global teams to ensure operationalization of global policies.
- Build and grow partnerships across cross-functional groups including public policy, public relations, legal, product, engineering, and sales.
- Understand/communicate the challenges and needs presented by trends globally.
