Constituent Liaison

New York State Assembly – Central Queens (Democratic Office)

The Office of a New York State Assemblymember representing Central Queens is seeking a full-time Constituent Liaison. This is a hands-on role for someone eager to execute the office’s district priorities and make an immediate impact addressing community needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Initiate constituent casework from direct point-of-contact – whether through phone, email, or in-person interactions – and as assigned by Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff.
  • Manage constituent caseload from initial intake to full case resolution, keeping senior staff apprised of case progress as applicable.
  • Attend and represent Assemblymember in local meetings, including but not limited to monthly Community Board meetings, civic association meetings, school graduations and celebrations, local award ceremonies, holiday gatherings, and other local events on an as-needed basis, including on nights and sometimes weekends.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for both incoming calls and in-person walk-ins to the district office. Provide direct assistance or route inquiries appropriately, while offering guidance on how the office can help.
  • Draft responses to constituent inquiries about legislation
  • Perform legislative research and draft legislative responses to constituents.
  • Act as primary scheduling contact for New York City and Queens-specific events, and help identify upcoming engagements for the Assemblymember’s participation.
  • Maintain organized constituent caseload through Constituent Relations Management (CRM) system, identify patterns in constituent casework indicating larger concerns, keep Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff apprised of developments and findings, and serve as a point of contact for specific stakeholder groups (e.g., schools, tenant associations, labor groups) as needed.

Salary: $50,000–$60,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

This is a full-time, hybrid (min. 3 days per week in office) position based in Queens.
