Job Title: Part-Time Constituent Outreach Coordinator (1 position available)

Job Description: The Office of State Representative Sonya Harper is looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Community Outreach Coordinator.

This position plays a vital part in connecting with constituents, building relationships within the community, and promoting Representative Harper's initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Constituent Engagement:

- Act as a liaison between the office and constituents, addressing their concerns and needs.

- Conduct outreach to identify and assist constituents with accessing government services and resources.

- Attend community meetings and events to gather feedback and promote the office's services.

2. Community Partnerships:

- Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations, schools, and businesses.

- Collaborate with these entities to organize events, workshops, and initiatives that benefit the community.

- Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership on community projects.

3. Outreach Campaigns:

- Plan and execute outreach campaigns to raise awareness of legislative issues and initiatives.

- Develop and distribute informative materials, newsletters, and social media content.

- Engage with constituents through various communication channels.

4. Event Planning and Coordination:

- Assist in organizing community events, town hall meetings, and workshops.

- Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, invitations, catering, and materials.

- Promote events to ensure a strong turnout from the community.

5. Data Collection and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of community interactions and feedback.

- Compile data and prepare reports on outreach efforts and outcomes.

- Provide regular updates to Representative Harper and the office on community engagement activities.

6. Legislative Support:

- Collaborate with the legislative team to gather input from constituents on pending bills and policy matters.

- Assist with research on community-related issues to inform legislative decisions.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in business, political science or related fields preferred.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Passion for community engagement and advocacy.

- Ability to work independently and in a team.

- Proficiency in using social media platforms for outreach and communication.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

- Previous experience in community organizing or outreach is a plus.

- Familiarity with the local community and its needs is highly valued.

Hours and Compensation:

- Part-time positions with 20 hours per week for each role.

- Competitive hourly wage based on experience.

- Flexible scheduling to accommodate other commitments.

Pay: $19.14 - $21.17 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
