Summer Press Internship

The Office of Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia (TX-29) is seeking motivated, detail-oriented, and energetic individuals for a Press internship in Washington, DC, for Summer 2024. This internship will be an invaluable opportunity to dive into the inner workings of Capitol Hill. This is a stipend-paid position.

Qualified applicants have strong writing and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, a strong sense of professionalism, a solid work ethic, and a willingness to learn is a must. English and Spanish bilingual candidates with Texas ties are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include drafting 499s on a variety of issues, assisting press staff with research, drafting press releases and talking points, answering and screening telephone calls, drafting social media content, and performing other duties as necessary.

This position is available beginning of June 2024 through August 2024.
