Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA) is the largest pro-life political organization in the country with a nationwide network of more than 1 million Americans. We combine politics with policy, investing heavily in voter education to ensure that pro-life Americans know where their lawmakers stand on protecting the unborn, and in issue advocacy, advancing pro-life laws through direct lobbying and grassroots campaigns.

The Finance Director will be responsible for the daily management of accounting functions and operations, ensuring the financial system is accurate, efficient and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principle. With an eye toward growth and through working with the Vice President of Administration, the Finance Director will establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. The right candidate will have previous experience managing a finance group.

This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Vice President of Administration.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and manage finance personnel.
  • Act as the financial liaison between our department and other departments.
  • Develop our standard operating procedures as we grow larger and translate those into action on a daily basis.
  • Establish all financial goals and strategies with Vice-President of Administration.
  • Work across entities and departments to prepare the annual budget for approval.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish monthly budget goals and report on performance.
  • Through reports and processes that the Finance Director develops, keep Vice President of Administration consistently aware of spending and cash flow.
  • Manage the relationship with our CPA firm and completion of all annual filings, include audit, 990, and charitable filings.
  • Oversee and improve the financial aspects of the grant application and reporting process for our 501c3 programs.
  • Oversee proper processes for bi-weekly payroll, manage relationship with payroll vendor.


  • 3-5 years experience managing a finance department.
  • Must be proficient in Sage, Microsoft Suite of products, especially Microsoft Teams, and have some experience working with databases.
  • Non-profit experience a plus.
  • Detail-oriented – Employee must be thorough when performing work and strive to achieve accuracy and consistency in all tasks.
  • Trustworthy – Ability to manage and handle sensitive financial information.
  • Communication – Must be able to communicate well over the phone and in person within operations department and across organization.
  • Must be pro-life.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will supervise the finance team.

Physical Demands 

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.  
  • Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing.   
  • May be required to lift objects up to 20 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours 

40 hour per week. Weekend and overnight work is not expected. 


No travel is required for this position.
