Overview of Organization

NJ LEEP is a college access and success program for low-income and first-generation students from the greater Newark area. NJ LEEP currently serves middle school students, high school students, college students, and family members. We help students perform at high academic levels by building skills through law-related and other educational programs, developing the habits necessary for college success and community leadership, and offering exposure to colleges, careers, and role models who have achieved professional success. The salary range for this position starts at $55,000, and NJ LEEP offers a competitive benefits package for full-time employees.

Title & Position Summary

The Student Experience Coordinator will work closely with the Managing Director of Students to implement the necessary day-to-day systems and procedures used by NJ LEEP to ensure that student experiences are consistent, safe, and enriching. This role provides a unique work experience, combining crucial behind-the-scenes functions with direct student engagement across all of our programming.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the collection and tracking of all student forms, including recruitment and enrollment paperwork, field trip permission slips, student report cards, among others
  • Be a key point of contact for students and families on program and event attendance, as well as on matters crucial to student and program success, such as report card collection, survey completion, etc.
  • Support in the planning and execution of student and family events, especially with regard to student and family attendance
  • Provide administrative and programmatic support for the Junior Experience after-school classes, especially those focused on test preparation
  • Provide administrative and programmatic support for the Summer Middle School Program, including student supervision, activity planning, field trip organization, and family engagement
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience & Qualifications

  • High school diploma and at least four years of post-high school work or education experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working with middle school or high school students
  • Spanish language fluency
