Job Description


The Climate Action Campaign is looking for an innovative and flexible graphic designer to support our design needs, branding and stakeholder communications. The Graphic Designer will:


Responsibilities

  • Develop graphic visuals for campaign collateral materials, including but not limited to, presentations, reports, proposals, infographics, flyers, banners, emails, and more that keep our goals and mission in mind by telling a visual story both in digital and print 
  • Assist digital communications and planning teams with production of materials including social media graphics, ads, digital banners, and assets for website content for web presence 
  • Creatively work to enhance CAC’s Campaign’s internal and external branding in conjunction with the digital communications team by enforcing brand guidelines across all CAC platforms and media, including, but not limited to printed signage, swag collateral, digital documents, and products for both our national and field work
  • Contribute proactive ideas to the team for content development that benefit from graphic design and creative elements
  • Manage day to day and long term priorities within project management systems using Asana, Quick Base, and our digital asset management system, Brandfolder
  • Organize and track licensed assets from Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, and other stock libraries
  • Promote and continue established best practices for the production processes across departments, manage deliverable timelines, and oversee other duties as reasonably assigned


Qualifications

A successful candidate for this position is a mission-driven, hardworking, confident individual who has/is:


  • Two-to-five years of relevant design experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
  • Knowledge of functional layouts, design fundamentals and principles, functional layouts, typography, print and web arrangements, as well as how to convert designs from CMYK-to-RGB and RGB-to-CMYK for precise colors in mixed media, and the web
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, primarily PhotoShop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as CanvaSketch and other graphic design software
  • Skills in video editing and design using Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush, or similar software are a plus
  • Creative and has a high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • The ability to work independently, remain flexible, stay self-motivated, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, rapid-response environment
  • The ability to receive and manage requests from various departments and teams, and communicate effectively with your colleagues throughout the design and approval processes 
  • Prepared to share ideas and make suggestions frequently and as needs arise
  • Strong time management and priority-setting skills
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred
  • Familiarity with environmental issues is a plus but not required

The Fine Print

This is a full-time, exempt position based in Washington, D.C. CAC staff work in a hybrid set-up with in-office work (2-3 days a week). COVID vaccinations are required for all onsite work. The salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000 and is commensurate based on experience.
