Union Representative

Teamsters Local 727 is currently seeking to add a Union Representative to our staff in the near future. Responsibilities include representing Union members covered by collective bargaining agreements in Chicago and vicinity, addressing member and employer questions and problems, ensuring compliance with and the enforcement of collective bargaining agreements, processing grievances, participating in contract negotiations, visiting jobsite locations and disseminating information, and attending meetings and pickets.

Strong commitment to social justice and building the labor movement

Ability to work well with a wide variety of people

Leadership skills to educate and motivate members

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations

Experience and training necessary to enforce contracts and conduct contract negotiations (one year experience required).
