The Democratic staff of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee seeks a Research Assistant to help committee staff research and fact-check reports, policy briefs, hearing memos, charts and other documents.

A qualified candidate has a bachelor’s degree in economics, or a related degree with some coursework in economics. Attention to detail, excellent analytical and writing skills, and a positive attitude are necessary, as well as the ability to prioritize and work with tight deadlines. Proficiency with R is a plus, as is experience with federal data sources, including survey microdata (such as the ACS or CPS) or BEA/BLS data.
