GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS ASSOCIATE (STARLINK)

Starlink will provide high-speed broadband around the world, helping to connect the unserved and underserved. As a member of the team, you will help enable Starlink's expansion internationally through direct lobbying efforts and strategic coalition building.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, assess, and coordinate international engagement relating to government connectivity initiatives to advise Global Government Affairs and Global Government Sales teams on program availability and applicability to Starlink
  • Lead engagements with government connectivity program managers and other relevant parties related to global broadband programs
  • Support Global Government Affairs and global policy activities for Starlink relating to broadband and connectivity programs and initiatives, eligibility and performance requirements, and funding advocacy
  • Create and maintain a current database of government connectivity initiatives in foreign jurisdictions, including budget tracking
  • Assist with shaping broadband policy discussions and initiatives in the U.S., including state and local governments, and with foreign administrations
  • Provide general research support to the Global Government Affairs team
  • Draft advocacy materials and contribute to proposal developments relating to global connectivity initiatives
  • Produce market and competitive analysis relevant to broadband services in key markets
  • Prepare presentations for key audiences for SpaceX leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience working on legislative matters in the private sector, a Congressional office, or an executive agency (internships experience qualifies)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including editing skills
  • Outstanding demonstrated research skills
  • Experience working on issues directly related to space policy, telecommunications, and broadband/connectivity policy
  • Economic and market analysis training or experience
  • Legislative, or federal agency experience, including internships
  • Knowledge of launch vehicles, satellites, and space technology and policy matters
  • Knowledge of foreign contracting and acquisition practices
  • Direct experience in achieving definitive legislative or programmatic outcomes
  • Passion for SpaceX's mission and goals and closing the digital divide
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be willing to attend political and industry events on behalf of SpaceX

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:

Government Affairs Associate: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
