Job Description

Alkemie Early Music Ensemble is looking for a part-time marketing associate to create written and graphic content for and manage marketing campaigns for concerts, recordings, and other events, as well as to increase brand awareness. This position works closely with the two Co-Managing Directors. This season, Alkemie will present 4-5 different programs in NYC (with 2 concerts per program), as well as 2 tours and 2 album releases.

Basic Information:

  • Up to 10 hours per week, average of 8 hours/week year-round
  • Remote, with flexible hours
  • $30/hour; Approximately $12,500/year

An ideal candidate would:

  • Be self-motivated, able to take initiative, work independently, track and meet deadlines, and problem-solve
  • Live in close proximity to NYC (preferred, but not required)
  • Be interested in a long-term work commitment (minimum: 1-2 years)
  • Have experience writing marketing copy and possess basic graphic design skills
  • Have experience with a combination of software including Microsoft Office suite, Google Drive, Mailchimp, Adobe Photoshop (or similar platform for visual & video editing), basic web design (Squarespace)
  • Have experience working with arts or entertainment organizations (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities include:

  • Create written, graphic, and video content for, manage, and optimize email and social media campaigns (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube)
  • Conceptualize email communications, write email copy, edit copy, and design email layout (Mailchimp)
  • Analyze the effectiveness of email communications efforts and present updates and recommendations to the Co-Managing Directors as appropriate
  • Write press releases and other communications materials
  • Oversee the execution of collateral (e.g. postcards, flyers, etc.)
  • Update website content
  • Execute digital assets for website and social campaigns
  • Conduct media outreach to local and national outlets
  • Submit/post concert information to local and national newsletters/sites/listings
  • Maintain and update website (currently Wix, moving to Squarespace)
  • Manage ticketing system and respond to patron inquiries
  • If possible, run box office for ticketed concerts in NYC
