Development Associate


The Development Associate is primarily responsible for assisting the Development Director carryout fund raising initiatives to sustain and enhance the mission of Trust Women. This position reports to the Development Director of TW and works collaboratively and strategically with all TW staff. The purpose of this position is to provide research and administrative support to the Development Program.


Trust Women opens clinics that provide abortion care in underserved communities so that all women can make their own decisions about their health care. This is a full-time position (40-45 hours per week, with additional weekend and evening hours as needed.)


Responsibilities

  • Conducts research on prospects, including individuals, corporations and foundations identified as potential sources of private funds for specific projects for Trust Women. In addition, conducts ongoing research in business, philanthropy and related fields to identify potential donors and sources of donor information.
  • Prepares a variety of reports including contact and giving, using constituency information database. Enters data into database on a timely basis for prospect tracking purposes.

·        Managing effective systems for tracking and cultivating contributors through the organizational database.

·        Assist with coordination of events.

·        Assemble media and donor kits for events & meetings.

·        Follow up with donors.

·        Providing direct support staffing to the Development Director for development related responsibilities.

·        Prepare mass mailings for distribution.

·        Performing other development activities as may be required.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s Degree

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
  • Eager to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility.
  • Computer literate and technologically proficient in standard word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications.

·        Excellent attention to details and follow through as demonstrated through effective project management experience. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

·        Ability to see broad picture of women’s rights while working to implement the nuts and bolts of an organization.

·        People skills to reach and relate to a broad spectrum and cross-section of potential contributors.
