About Us: The Professional Services Council (PSC) is a leading trade association representing private sector firms that contract with the U.S. Government. We advocate for policies that ensure a fair and competitive federal marketplace and provide our members with the resources and support they need to succeed.
Job Purpose: As the Vice President for Defense and Intelligence, you will be a key member of our senior leadership team. You will lead PSC’s efforts in events, work products, advocacy, and education related to the U.S. Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and related organizations. You will also support other PSC policy vice presidents and teams, and provide critical support to the PSC Foundation, especially during the Vision Federal Market Forecast process and conference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver written and oral products supporting PSC policy, advocacy, education, and events related to the U.S. Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.
- Draft comments and position papers on relevant legislation, regulations, and agency policies.
- Serve as the senior PSC policy advocate for defense and intelligence issues.
- Manage the PSC Defense and Intelligence Council, including setting agendas, arranging speakers, coordinating member participation, and conducting follow-up actions.
- Provide advice and analysis to other PSC councils and internal bodies as needed.
- Act as a spokesperson for PSC to members, the press, and the public, including writing articles and speaking at conferences and events.
- Support the PSC President and CEO, Executive Vice Presidents, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors on association business functions and activities.
- Oversee relevant work products of the PSC Foundation, including research and analysis, and activities related to the PSC Vision Federal Market Forecast process.
Qualifications:
- Extensive senior leadership experience in national security, with a focus on the U.S. Department of Defense and/or the Intelligence Community.
- Experience with federal acquisition processes, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the Federal Government, including executive and legislative branches, and an understanding of the federal technology commercial marketplace.
- Strong management experience and customer service skills.
- Ability to build coalitions and achieve results.
- Advanced degree preferred but not required.
