SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Progressive Change Campaign Committee is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Operations Manager. This position will coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization and its sister entities, in particular the financial, budgeting, and reporting responsibilities.

This is a full-time, salaried position with generous benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and a 401k plan. Our team is virtual, with staff around the country.


Responsibilities include:

Financial operations. Detail-oriented, thoughtful management and coordination with the external accounting and compliance firms on all financial transactions and reports related to the organization and its sister entities; review and approve payroll; review, allocate, and approve bill and invoice payments; review, allocate, and approve credit card charges, staff expenditures and reimbursements; manage the annual renewal of benefits, D&O and terrorism insurance; disability insurance and workers comp policies and audits, and 401k match; administer contracts and track start and end dates of contracts in operations calendar; ensure payments are tracked in budgeting systems. 

Human resources operations. Use our online HR system to support employees in onboarding and off-boarding; review employee monthly time allocations for accuracy; obtain answers to benefits questions; administer COBRA, family and medical leave, and unemployment insurance as needed; and maintain HR files.

Budget administration. Work with the accounting team and internal staff to ensure that revenue and expenses are being tracked, and maintain an ongoing sense of our finances to ensure they are being used strategically and efficiently; work with co-founders and program directors to set and monitor organizational budgets and programmatic budgets. Assist with the financial components of grant reports and proposals. 

Legal and financial reporting. Coordinate lobbying, FEC, and IRS reports with relevant internal stakeholders and external accounting, legal, and compliance firms to ensure accurate and timely filings. Facilitate annual 990 preparation and financial audits.

Virtual office management. Manage the organization’s records and resources. Ensure staff have necessary equipment, supplies, and access to what they need for their roles. Ensure maintenance of equipment and credit card inventories. Maintain the library of organizational guides, policies, templates, and resources.

Miscellaneous operations. Occasional miscellaneous responsibilities as needed, such as support for large event planning and travel.


Qualifications:

This position requires a proactive work ethic, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple, high-level priorities that make the organization run smoothly. A successful applicant will:

  • Have 5-7 years work experience in an operations, personnel-related, and/or a senior Executive Assistant position.
  • Be knowledgeable about c3/c4/PAC compliance.
  • Be highly detail-oriented, precise, organized, and efficient.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, growing into the role to increasingly make independent decisions on personnel and budgetary matters.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities at the same time in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Have a warm, approachable demeanor.
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Have some bookkeeping experience and knowledge of QuickBooks, bill payment, and payroll processing/reporting systems.
  • Have experience with NGP Compliance Reporting and familiarity with FEC Report filings.
  • Have a passion for progressive politics.


Salary and Hiring

The annual salary range for this position is $105,000 - $115,000. We offer a generous benefits package which includes unlimited time off and health and dental insurance. Our team is virtual, with staff around the country.

The Senior Operations Manager will report to the Co-Founders.
