Job Description

We are recruiting a lead classroom teacher to teach 4th/5th grade (ESL learners) with our non-profit educational organization, The Esperanza Project, located in the beautiful coastal town of Cabrera in the Dominican Republic.

Our program was founded by Fiona and Anthony Austin over 15 years ago, both of whom are still full time teachers at the school and began the program as a way to provide high quality, but cheap (and even free for many) English education to average Dominican and Haitian families.

The position is to begin as soon as possible (but this is flexible if more time is needed) and run until the end of the school year in June 2024, as we had a teacher leave unexpectedly due to a family emergency. There will also be the option to extend the contract.

Teacher should have experience leading their own classroom and creating lesson plans, but an official teaching certification is not necessarily required if the experience is there and the fit is right.

As this position is working for a small, family run, non-profit, it is not an opportunity for financial saving or living a luxury life, but it is a definitely a life changing opportunity and will provide enough financially to live comfortably while here in the Dominican Republic.
