The Manager, Government Affairs will be a key member of Prologis’ growing global government affairs team. Reporting to the Director, Government Affairs, this individual will work within the Legal division and have a leading role in advancing Prologis’ regulatory and legislative agenda in priority market states, including but not limited to California, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Illinois. This individual will be expected to identify and analyze political, legislative, and policy trends to help inform business decisions, engage directly with state legislatures and agencies, and persuasively communicate and advocate for company positions and policies through state legislative and regulatory processes. The position is based in Washington, DC.
What’s needed in order to do that:
- Monitoring, tracking, and researching legislative and regulatory policy activity at the state level to identify opportunities and risks to the enterprise;
- Providing input into and implementing legislative and regulatory initiatives and strategies that further Prologis’ government affairs objectives;
- Representing Prologis and effectively communicating company policy positions in meetings with agency officials, legislators, and their staffs;
- Representing Prologis in hearings, legislative markups, briefings, regulatory workshops, trade association meetings, conferences, and other events;
- Developing and leveraging relationships with key trade associations, industry peers, and other stakeholders in the legislative and regulatory process;
- Composing summaries and analyses of policy developments for internal and external audiences;
- Working cross-functionally to understand business goals and objectives to ensure that government affairs activities are aligned to the business;
- Developing communication materials to articulate the Prologis story of impact and value creation to stakeholders;
- Leading team data collection and analysis for reporting on key metrics and performance outcomes;
- Performing additional duties that advance the work of the government affairs function as necessary.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred;
- 5+ of relevant public or private sector experience in state government, government affairs, or public policy (prior policy work in renewable energy, clean transportation, real estate, or commerce strongly preferred);
- An understanding of state legislative, regulatory, policymaking, and political processes;
- Experience using legislative tracking and reporting tools
- Ability to travel at peak times up to 50%;
- Strong network of contacts in state or local governments;
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with government officials and their staffs;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Ability to distill complex issues into digestible summaries;
- Experience working with/managing outside consultants;
- Attention to detail and commitment to professionalism and integrity;
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills;
- Strong work ethic with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines;
- Ability to comply with all laws, regulations, and ethical concerns within the government affairs function and Prologis more broadly;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Hiring Salary Range of: $118,000-$132,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target to be determined by the candidate’s locations, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
